Abstract

This article presents a literature review about the Self-regulated Learning Microanalysis, one of the methodological approaches developed in the last decades to measure and evaluate the learning process in different contexts. I present a historical overview of the development of measure/assessment processes and tools for Self-Regulated Learning (SRL), the microanalysis approach in Social Cognitive Theory (Bandura, 1977a), and self-regulated learning (Cleary & Zimmerman, 2001; Kitsantas & Zimmerman, 2002), besides the recent proposals for the application of this evaluative/interventional technique in the musical field. This review seeks to support the arguments in favor of the viability of adopting microanalysis as a solid methodological approach and an effective didactic and academic tool for the development of performance pedagogy.
