In Music Therapy, psychometric analysis studies on protocols and other assessment instruments are important as they provide relevant information on various practical and theoretical aspects. In this research, we aimed to carry out an unprecedented study of the structural validity of three Nordoff Robbins Scales together with three categories of the IMTAP Scale. Such scales have not previously undergone studies of this nature. To this end, analyzes of music therapy services were carried out for 35 patients with varying diagnoses. Four measurement models were tested via confirmatory factor analysis. The model that presented adequate data fit was the bifactor model with the presence of one general factor and two specific factors. Theoretical and clinical implications were discussed.
