Construção e validação de um banco de dados musical latino-americano para o estudo das emoções.

Resumo

A relação entre música e emoção constitui um eixo central na musicoterapia, na musicologia, na psicologia e nas neurociências, especialmente no âmbito de intervenções aplicadas em contextos educacionais e terapêuticos. Tradicionalmente, a classificação de fragmentos musicais como estimulantes ou relaxantes tem se baseado em parâmetros estruturais derivados do repertório europeu do período da prática comum, sendo generalizada a diferentes contextos culturais sem validação local. O presente estudo teve como objetivo desenvolver e validar um banco de dados de peças latino-americanas culturalmente contextualizadas e analisar se as categorias estruturais musicais predizem a valência e o nível de ativação percebidos por ouvintes argentinos. Foram selecionadas 22 peças latino-americanas por meio de consenso de especialistas e avaliadas por 252 participantes da Argentina, que classificaram a valência emocional e o nível de ativação após a audição de cada fragmento. Paralelamente, todas as peças foram analisadas sistematicamente de acordo com parâmetros musicais estruturais (tempo, modo, timbre, intensidade, densidade polifônica, variação formal e ruptura da expectativa). As respostas emocionais foram comparadas com aquelas obtidas para peças clássicas europeias habitualmente utilizadas na literatura. Os resultados confirmaram diferenças significativas entre as categorias de ativação e relaxamento em termos de valência e ativação, mas não em função da origem cultural das peças. Além disso, certos parâmetros, como o modo e o tempo, não se ajustaram estritamente às suposições teóricas tradicionais. Essas descobertas ressaltam a necessidade de abordagens metodológicas culturalmente sensíveis e multidimensionais para o estudo aplicado da emoção musical.
